[PAST] Releasing the Legacy of Shame: Kay Gardner and Derek Scott

ABOUT ABOUT

Dick Schwartz describes shame as a multi-part phenomena: there are parts holding the burden of shame; beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” or “There’s something wrong with me” and shaming parts inside (the inner critic) that learn to shame us into behaving in a way that means we won’t get abandoned.  In addition to the beliefs, associated feelings, and impact on the body connected to these parts there is often a legacy component. If for example, it was not safe for your great-grandmother to have a voice then she will have raised her daughter with this belief, reinforced through shaming, who will have passed that on to your mother, then you; held in your system.

Shame dims the light of Self.

In this IFS workshop Kay Gardner and Derek Scott will safely guide you through an exploration of where and how you may be holding a legacy burden so that it can be released from your system and from your lineage. Once cleared there is space in your system for a greater embodiment of Self energy and all of your parts can feel safe to manifest who they, and you are. Please note: Kay is unable to attend kive and has recorded her piece.

To begin this exploration you may wish to watch these videos by Derek on understanding how shame gets taken on by a part and how to engage with it internally. The third video in the series will be sent to you when you register for this workshop.

Shame: Not You videos 1 & 2

We have also made a brief video with Kay explaining what to expect from the guided meditation.

There will be an optional meeting at 2 pm EDT for 1 hour the following Friday (May 14th) for anyone who wants to share how the release of the shame burden is being integrated in their life. This optional hour is included in the fee.
