Psychedelics are the new frontier of healing and mental health but continue to be largely uncharted territory for most therapists. This three-hour Masterclass is designed to demystify psychedelics as a healing modality and support therapists in understanding the important role they play in preparation and integration work for their clients - without needing direct involvement in psychedelic journey work.
Examples and case studies will be used to demonstrate:
- That psychedelics are an on-ramp and not a short cut to healing and mental well-being.
- How to support clients in assessing readiness for a psychedelic experience and the importance of set, setting and skill when choosing a journey guide.
- How prior experience with IFS can support clients in their psychedelic experience inward and the meeting of themselves and their Parts.
- How clients can prevent backlash by connecting and gaining permission from Protectors before a psychedelic journey
- How to support clients in their integration using IFS and grounding the psychedelic healing in their everyday lives
- To help therapists become comfortable in discussions around psychedelics
The pre-requisite for this workshop is a functional knowledge of IFS parts (managers, firefighters and exiles and how to work with them). The basics of IFS will not be covered.
Natasha Senra-Pereira
has been working in the field of mental health for over 17 years with professional experience at Canada’s largest mental health hospital and in private practice. Her experience includes working in forensics, on crisis teams and supporting those that walk the most challenging paths. Natasha has a Master’s degree in Social Work and trainings in numerous modalities including IFS, EMDR and relational-somatic psychotherapy. She also has advanced trainings in various forms of meditation and In-Depth Channeling from the Metaphysical University Delphi in the U.S. Her work is guided by the newest research as well as her own personal healing and experience – which is detailed in her best-selling book, “Talk Therapy Isn’t Enough”. Over the last several years, her teaching and focus has been the intersectionality of psychedelics, spirituality and healing.
