ABOUT ABOUT

Increasingly our clients are working with psychedelic medicines in either controlled environments or recreationally. As IFS therapists it behoves us to familiarise ourselves with these phenomena in order to be of better service to our clients. Dick Schwartz has repeatedly spoken of his own personal work with Ketamine and writes of the benefits in his latest book "No bad Parts".

Dr. Nick Bruss is a certified IFS therapist and co-therapist in the phase 3 M.A.P.S. study treating trauma with MDMA. He also works with Ketamine in his practice. During this workshop he will teach us about what happens in the brain with these medicines and how, in conjunction with IFS people may reach a different platform from which they can experience their system. His focus will be on integration of the experiences: from informed consent to peak experiences and how the heightened relationship with parts can be brought into day-to-day life.

Dr. Bruss maintains that the IFS therapist is well-positioned to facilitate the integration. He will also speak to how to discern when clients may be engaging in medicine work as a form of Spiritual bypass that may move them away from the healing and integration they may need.
